English is the language of the global economy, and most apps to learn it quietly assume you already read some. That leaves out the people who need it most. Mireo is built for them.

It teaches English to people who speak little or none of it, starting from their own language. The method is a character-learning app in reverse: instead of breaking a Chinese character into radicals, Mireo breaks an English word into its building blocks, its roots, prefixes, and suffixes, and glosses every piece into the learner's first language. Switch languages and the whole app re-glosses on the spot. The essentials work offline, with no account.

We're launching in Southeast Asia first, with Thai and Bahasa Indonesia, and Chinese as our flagship demo language. One region at a time, we're building the on-ramp to English for the next billion people who will speak it.
